Susan Terry first began playing the piano at The Nor’kirk in the fall of 2008 and is so grateful to be a part of this warm loving congregation. She begged to start piano lessons at the age of 6 and took lessons through high school. Completely burned out, she swore to never play again, but after a 20-year break the keys thankfully beckoned to her again. She is a native Texan and lives in Coppell.
Lane serves as the Music Director at The Nor’kirk. He has enjoyed a long career as a church choral director and soloist. He studied vocal performance at Bethany College (Kansas) and Wichita State University. He brings a love of gospel music to the choir and feels blessed to be a part of a church with so much outrageously great musical talent! Lane and his wife Carla live in Coppell and have 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and a huge church family at the Nor'kirk.
Mimi serves as the church administrator for The Nor’kirk. She and her husband, Sterling, joined The Nor’kirk in 1985, and their two children grew up in the congregation. Mimi started serving as the church secretary in 1998 and has enjoyed continuing to be a part of the church in this role. Her favorite things about The Nor’kirk are the people and the many opportunities she has to connect with them. Mimi and Sterling enjoy traveling to visit family and friends and are enjoying having both kids living nearby!
Our Interim Pastor, Laura Fitzgibbon, has been at The Nor’kirk since August of 2020. She comes to us having served several churches in the Dallas Fort Worth area in interim roles. She brings to our church a joy for praising God, serving God together, and imagining ways we can move our community to look more like the Kingdom of Heaven. She is a second-career pastor who earned her Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Prior to a call to ministry, Laura earned an MBA, also at SMU, and worked in the technology industry for 10 years. Despite two graduate degrees from SMU, she can still be found cheering on their rival The Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University where she received her undergraduate degree in Public Relations and French. Laura lives in Plano with her husband of 27 years, Pete. They have two children, Sydney and Cooper who are both students at SMU. She loves to travel and try new restaurants with friends. At home, she enjoys gardening, reading, and running. Last but not least, her life is managed and controlled by her three furry children, cats Loki, Chai, and Comet.
