The Nor'kirk History

Our History

A place of worship, music, fellowship, education and service in the Carrollton community since 1975, the history of The Nor’kirk Presbyterian roughly parallels the growth and development of our Carrollton community. Starting from humble beginnings … our first worship service was held in Davis Elementary where we assumed our name, The Nor’kirk (Scottish for north church), because at that time we were the northern-most Presbyterian church in Grace Presbytery. As north Carrollton began to grow, so did our congregation, and our current sanctuary was built in 1983. Growth continued in our area and in our membership and we added a Christian Education wing in 1991. And most recently, in 2020, our expansion included the addition of a new Fellowship Hall & Community Use Building.

Throughout the years, our ministries have served our neighborhood - which includes Carrollton, Farmers Branch, The Colony, Lewisville, Coppell, Plano, and Dallas.  We believe that our church family is exactly that - our family – and we invite you, and encourage you, to join our family in our common journey of discipleship.
